After 57 Years The Elmwood Little League Has Lights

Above are pictures I took tonight of the Major League Field with lights "shining" down on it. It is too cold for baseball but it won't be long before this field will be loaded with children playing their first season under the lights. No more games will be canceled because of darkness. Next year we will be doing the official lighting ceremony and also will be playing a scrimmage game of the Elmwood Little League Coaches VS the Providence Grays using 1800's rules ,stop back for more information.

Well isn't that nice. It's about time. We've dreamed of having lights at the field as far back as I can remember. I wish we would've had lights back when I was younger. This is a huge accomplishment for the league. I can't wait to come out for a night game when I come back to visit this summer.

I played for the Elmwood Little League/Lovitt Beef from 1956-1959 We played at the old John T Owens field and I really am impressed with what you fellas have done to the new field(s). Keep up the good work. Jim Warburton
